The Great Gatsby is hitting the road starting in winter of 2026 and it’s conquering over 20 major venues, including the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota! The musical is based on the 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald with book written by acclaimed playwright Kait Kerrigan. The musical, which opened on Broadway in 2024, also brought in the amazing talents of Grammy winning composer Jason Howland and Grammy nominated lyricist Nathan Tysen. The magic of the jazz era was also brought to life thanks to the amazing work of director Macr Bruni and powerhouse choreographer Dominique Kelly. The music, which is the musical’s main focal point is given a grandiose showcase through the leadership of Grammy and Emmy winning composer and music supervisor Jason Howland.

Besides a great creative team, the touring production will be featuring a stellar cast. Jake David Smith will take the lead role as Jay Gatsby while Senzel Ahmady is thrilled to bring the role of Daisy Buchanan across North America for the first time. The rest of the cast have yet to be announced but casting team C12 Casting, Stephen Kopel, and Jillian Cimini has done exemplary work in casting the Great Gatsby’s Broadway production. Over at the Outer Critics Circle Award, the musical earned four nominations including Outstanding New Broadway Musical. Scenic and projection designer Paul Tate DePoo III brought home the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Scenic Design while Linda Cho won Outstanding Costume Design.
