Les Miserables at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis

From the moment of the musical's creation in the late 1900s, Les Misérables, or Les Mis, has risen up from becoming a small unknown production produced in Paris, France to today's longest-running musical in the entire world. Over the last four decades that the play has been touring, the show has been performed in 53 countries, in 22 different languages, and has been drawing in more and more theatergoers in each locale visited.

In February, the musical’s tour is expected to perform in a new location in Minneapolis, where Les Mis will be performed in Orpheum Theatre on Friday 20th February 2026. Orpheum Theatre was masterfully built and prepared as the best play venue of Minneapolis, containing a well-crafted stage and seating setup that is big enough to host a show of this standard, in addition to adequate services that can be found in the venue.

The musical is all about the tale of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict distressingly seeking redemption after breaks free from the chain gang. Valjean's entire story, presented through two emotional acts, are staged fully through song from the beginning to the end of the musical. The Broadway musical being fully sung-through is a storytelling tactic that this musical has over other known Broadway plays, and is the main reason why each individual song performance always stuns its viewers, in every phrase or lyric performed.

It's quite unique and as a result of this manner, the show is also full of impressive dramatic performances. Interestingly, in the face of the myriad of numbers that can be witnessed in this grand musical, each role in Les Misérables is able to be highlighted, with each individual ballad showing the vocal range of each actor. Not one single person who has attended Les Mis can forget Fantine’s “I Dreamed A Dream”, which brings with the ballad a heavy heart and has been performed endlessly by other performers in modern television. “Bring Him Home” also passionately creates one of the musical's best moments, revealing to us the very soul of the main character in only one totally magnificent song.
