Ben Platt at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis

You’d think that a performer who’s been active since 2002 would be much older than just 30 years old. However, Ben Platt’s career path has never been an ordinary one. People who want to bash on Platt always point to the fact that his dad was in the business, and that’s how he got his big break on the Book of Mormon in Chicago’s theater scene. By the time he was cast in that production, though, he’d already done a ton of theater work. The reality is that you don’t get a chance to play a venue like the Orpheum Theatre or have long runs in theater productions without talent. That talent promises to be on full display on June 29th.

Theater junkies are going to love this performance and will likely sing along to a lot of the hits that Platt will be playing on that night. His most popular songs, like “Waving Through a Window” or “I Could Tell Her” come from the Broadway show Dear Evan Hansen, that Platt starred in. Don’t be surprised if he also rolls out some songs from the recent hit Hamilton on June 29th in Minneapolis as well. He worked with Linn Manuel Miranda on a couple of songs for that production.

The fact that most of the songs Platt’s known for come from theater, as mentioned before, allows him to create an ambiance that puts you as a guest of the show in that theater production. At least for a time, you’re going to feel like you’re watching Evan Hansen on stage, not necessarily Ben Platt. It’s also true, though, that usage rights could limit the songs that he’ll be able to sing on stage at the Orpheum Theatre. Regardless of what he plays, anyone who’s been to a Ben Platt show can tell you that you’re going to get his best on every night.

If you really want to get the full romantic experience that Platt will be showcasing on the last Saturday in June in Minneapolis, you want to get tickets right next to the stage. From there, you’re going to feel like he’s serenading just you and your date! This concert is bound to be one of the most romantic that will set foot at the Orpheum Theater this summer. Really, any seat in the house provides a good view. Just make sure to get your tickets early so you don’t miss out.
