As a musician and writer Martin is a bluegrass man and his novels and plays are highly regarded. Steve Martin is also a bluegrass music singer and has written several books of literature, as well as a play. The work of Steve Martin is diverse to say the least, and he truly is a man of many talents.
Martin Short was born in Toronto, Canada and has received an Emmy and a Tony Award for his work on TV and the stage. At Saturday Night Live, he played a variety of characters, including Duckie in Ed Harris’ film of The Wilder Life and Chris Bannister in his own TV Series Primetime Glick. Also on TV, Short played several recurring characters on SCTV, including Sammy Maudsley, a low class, British hairdresser, and Joel Gourley, a Scottish pop star. He was recently nominated for several awards for his work on the Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, in which he co-stars with Steve Martin. As an actor Martin Short has received an Emmy Award and a Tony Award for his work. He is known for his performances as Ed Grimley on Saturday Night Live and Lemonate Martban on SCTV. Currently Martin Short can be seen in Hulu’s new series only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin. The series has received huge attention in the USA with many awards and nominations. On stage, Martin Short brings a large amount of energy, a lively on stage presence and is a master with timing bringing his characters to life.
